Editorial Assistant – Tuko

responsibilities:

  • Create and publish engaging, high-quality content that resonates with TUKO.co.ke`s target audience on social media (Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter etc.). Ensure content is relevant and timely
  • Source comments from experts, entrepreneurs
  • Work with Tier1 content
  • Collaborate with the local correspondents team
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure social media content is aligned with the overall content strategy
  • Work closely with Editor-in-Chief

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in journalism/media studies or related field
  • Considerable experience in journalism and writing content
  • Knowledge of social media publishing
  • Copywriting skills
  • Ability to work with photo-editing software (Figma, Canva)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Impeccable communication and interviewing skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to go the extra mile
  • Self-driven individual with a strong desire to constantly learn and adapt
  • Good time management and work organisation skills
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to churn out articles in perfect English
  • Ability to work remotely (good internet connection and a laptop, minimum Intel Core i3).
